Burlesque

I recently was invited to go to a burlesque show downtown and was thrilled with the offer, both the person offering to escort me and the show sounded very exciting.

We met at the train and walked down to a chinese food restaurant where we chatted about silly things and laughed, there was a small group of us by that time so it was pleasant company. The food was excellent and I will have to go back sometime!

Next we were off to the theatre. Walking only a few short blocks and we had arrived. There we joined the line outside and I began people watching immediately. So many colourful and fun people and a lot of people knew each other so I was introduced around.

Then we were inside the theater and met by the MC as we were VIP's. I had no idea this would happen and it was a special treat to be lead right to the front and seated around cocktail tables in groups of four. My date on one side and a sexy girl and her man on the other side. I sat and watched the theatre fill up, commenting to my handsome date about the variety of clothing and fantastic sexy costumes.

The MC came by and gave the delicious girl next to me and I both a shot of whiskey. I gave mine to my date and watched as he downed it appreciatively. The beauty beside me had downed hers and we chatted briefly while we awaited the show.

The lights went down and the MC for the first group came out told bawdy jokes and puns that were met with good humoured laughter.

I don't remember all the acts so can only write about the ones that impressed me the most. I do not remember the order they came in either and so I must beg forgiveness for this inaccurate account.

The first act that caught my eye, came out wearing a painting on a string around her neck. The painting was of her torso and thighs covered in a red bodysuit. She dipped a paintbrush in a small pot of flesh coloured paint, teasing us as she grinned and painted herself down to panties and pasties. Soon she had freed herself of the portrait and was wiggling and dancing all over the stage, her breasts hidden behind her arm. Amidst much hooting and howling she finally flashed her pasties and disclosed that she was hiding tassels. She proceeded to twirl those tassels to her lively tune, at the end laying out before us on the front portion of the stage and making those tassels swing as fast as helicopter blade. I believe she was the first standing ovation of the night.

The crowd was very enthusiastic about the prop girl picking up discarded clothing between the sets, her short skirt showcasing her cute tushie as she bent over to pick up each article of clothing.

This group was the "Girls On Top", and I will never forget the impact of the final performance they did to commemorate the downtown east side girls who have been murdered or gone missing. The performance was well choreographed and the emotion the girls put into the dance spoke of how dear this was to their hearts. They were all clad in torn and dark clothes and moved as if the weight of the world was upon them. the impact the had was profound, and i could see several girls with tears running down their cheeks as they danced out this tragedy. Anyone who lives in the lower mainland would have been deeply touched by the devastation they so aptly captured of a working girl on the DTES, and they received a standing ovation at the end. I had tears in my eyes and a catch in my throat at how these fearless girls stood there and took our applause.

The rather infamous "Screaming Chickens" went next. I found myself thrilled with their theatrical antics. From a dream that became naughty, to a duet performed with cute voices and cuter girls singing and flaunting tasty flesh at us. The treat of having "boylesque" perform for us had the ladies in the audience hooting and hollering as we watched them strut their stuff and rip their clothes off for us.

I was feeling mighty warm by this point and spontaneously hugged my date and thanked him for inviting me out. We exchanged a few kisses and I felt his nails scratch down my back.

My breath caught in my throat and I struggled to maintain control, turning my attention back to the show. I can't remember any more specific acts but I do know there was a big finale where the entire theatrical society came out on stage and together formed what looked very much like a banana split. It was cool and I felt that this must be a taste of what a show in Vegas might look like.

Next was a burlesque troop from Victoria. The "Cheesecake Burlesque" troupe was a fun and lively bunch, opening with a number all about BOOBS, where in the end the flipped up skirts that displayed BOOBS clearly on their butts. It was hilarious and fun.

They also did a fun cowgirl routine and a zombie dance that started with the song "Putting on The Ritz" and ended with "Thriller" and all of the girls dancing as zombies. It was humorous. They did a lot more performances but those were the ones that impressed me the most.

Now we went on to the showcase of the night. As they set up for the first performer a man came out and twirled a baton that was on fire on both ends. It was amusing when I realized the alarm was not part of his performance but rather the fire alarm going off! After I was told I laughed about it but I was actually surprised we didn't have the fire department show up!

The showcase was performers from all over Canada and the first performer was from Montreal. She started her performance behind a screen that had a multimedia show playing. It showed her with a beard collection "Secret Beard Collection" was the title. Across the stage was a barbers chair. In walked a man with a long chest length beard. A bell rings, and you see her running down stairs to the shop. She comes out from behind the screen, sporting a barbers coat and and apron with razor blade. On the screen you could see the inside of the shop and a sign stating the price for a trim or a cut. She motioned to the cut and he vehemently refused pointing to the trim. She motions him to the chair and once he is settled she strips off her apron and turns it into a barbers sheet, draping him with it. She dances around him waving a straight razor and then in a quick swipe takes off one third of his beard. He reacts strongly and she only dances out of the way waving the trophy in her hand. Then she swoops back in and removes another third off his other cheek. He is enraged and leaps from the chair. She dances around showing off the hair and when he tries to attack her, she tackles him to the ground next to the screen. Bright splashes of blood appear on the screen as she slashes and hacks at his throat. She holds up his severed head, triumphant and you see her shadow slip behind the screen, run back up the stair and hold the head high in victory before pressing his gaping mouth to her crotch.

I was breathless and on my feet in an instant, to me this was the highlight of the night and my biggest regret now is not knowing either the girls name nor what troupe she may perform with. Somehow during her act her clothing was flung off her body leaving her in a frilly pair of panties and pasties on her tiny frame. This girl entranced me.

I do not really remember the next several minutes as I sat in a daze, I know there was another performer or two and that they were beautiful, but none could compare to this girls ingenuity.

The next performer to catch my eye was introduced as recreating a classic performance by one of the first recognized burlesque performers, she would be performing for the burlesque hall of fame in Vegas.

It was a beautiful performance, the girl was wearing layers of blue gauze type material that clung and floated and drifted. Tangling around her legs seductively and showing a glimpse of skin as she slowly removed each piece. She was a beautiful dancer and I found myself very aroused by her subtle performance. By the time she got down to her barely there thong and her pasties I was leaping to my feet along with the rest of the crowd to cheer the elegance of her show.

At this point I need to leave as my train would soon stop running.

My date was gracious and walked me to the train. We chatted about the show as we walked and discussed our favorite parts. I thanked him again for inviting me out.

We parted with a kiss as I dashed up the stairs to the platform and he rushed back to catch the end of the show.

All in all a very pleasurable night all around.
